Robin is een platform dat reizigers en taxichauffeurs in Nederland en België met elkaar verbindt. Robin bemiddelt; het vervoer zelf wordt uitgevoerd door zelfstandige taxichauffeurs met een eigen vergunning en verzekering.

Robin vraagt geen rekeningnummer: wij betalen niets aan je uit en verwerken geen ritgeld.
Sinds 15 oktober 2026 vraagt Robin chauffeurs geen scans meer van hun rijbewijs, identiteitsbewijs of chauffeurskaart (in België de bestuurderspas). Een chauffeur verklaart bij zijn aanmelding dat zijn papieren geldig zijn; wij controleren het kenteken bij de RDW. Een VOG vragen wij niet: Kiwa geeft de chauffeurskaart alleen af met een VOG, en kaarthouders worden doorlopend gescreend door Justis.
Heeft een chauffeur vóór die datum scans gestuurd, dan zijn die niet bewaard. Daarvan is uitsluitend vastgelegd:

Het kenteken controleren wij bij de RDW, via de openbare gegevens van RDW Open Data. Daarvan leggen wij vast: het kenteken, of de auto als taxi is ingeschreven, tot wanneer de APK geldt, of de auto WAM-verzekerd is, en merk, model en kleur zodat de reiziger de auto herkent. Gegevens over de eigenaar vragen wij bij de RDW niet op.

Verwijder je je account, dan wissen wij je gegevens, behalve wat wij wettelijk moeten bewaren. In de praktijk is dat de financiële administratie.
Met partijen die namens ons gegevens verwerken sluiten wij een verwerkersovereenkomst.
Wij streven ernaar alle gegevens binnen de Europese Economische Ruimte te verwerken. Is doorgifte daarbuiten onvermijdelijk, bijvoorbeeld bij het bezorgen van meldingen via Google of Apple, dan gebeurt dat uitsluitend op basis van een adequaatheidsbesluit van de Europese Commissie of standaardcontractbepalingen.
Verkeer tussen de app en onze servers verloopt versleuteld via HTTPS. Toegang tot gegevens is beperkt tot wie die voor zijn werk nodig heeft.
Robin is een jong platform in opbouw. Ontdek je een kwetsbaarheid, meld het op andy@robinrides.com. Wij reageren en dichten het gat, en wij ondernemen geen juridische stappen tegen wie een probleem in vertrouwen meldt.

Robin gebruikt geen trackingcookies en geen advertentiecookies.
De app slaat op je eigen apparaat op: je inlogstatus, je voorkeuren en je taal, en een kopie van de app zodat die ook zonder verbinding opent. Deze gegevens blijven op je telefoon.
Wijzigt deze verklaring inhoudelijk, dan melden wij dat in de app voordat de wijziging ingaat. De datum bovenaan geeft de laatste versie aan.

Robin does not ask for a bank account number: we pay nothing out to you and do not process fares.
Since 15 October 2026 Robin no longer asks drivers for scans of their driving licence, ID or driver card (in Belgium the driver pass). A driver declares when signing up that their documents are valid; we check the number plate with the RDW. We do not ask for a certificate of conduct (VOG): Kiwa only issues the driver card with a VOG, and card holders are continuously screened by Justis.
If a driver sent scans before that date, they were not kept. All that was recorded is:

We check the number plate with the RDW, using the public data of RDW Open Data. We record: the number plate, whether the car is registered as a taxi, how long its MOT is valid, whether it has third-party (WAM) insurance, and make, model and colour so the passenger recognises the car. We do not request data about the owner from the RDW.

If you delete your account, we erase your data, except what we are legally required to keep. In practice that is the financial records.
We conclude a data processing agreement with parties that process data on our behalf.
We aim to process all data within the European Economic Area. If a transfer outside it is unavoidable, for example when delivering notifications through Google or Apple, it only takes place on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses.
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. Access to data is limited to those who need it for their work.
Robin is a young platform under development. If you discover a vulnerability, report it to andy@robinrides.com. We respond and close the gap, and we take no legal action against anyone who reports a problem in good faith.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Robin uses no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies.
The app stores on your own device: your login status, your preferences and your language, and a copy of the app so that it also opens without a connection. This data stays on your phone.
If this statement changes substantively, we announce it in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
